MONEY

Please bring the cash you need with you! The best thing to do is bring USD and exchange it to pesos at the airport after you pass through customs. The exchange rate is about 19 pesos to 1 US dollar. If you plan to buy many personal items $400-$500 USD is suggested. There are ATM’s at the pyramid complex, but they don’t always work.

CELL PHONES & WIFI

Many carriers from the USA provide service to Mexico. It may be included in your plan, or you may need to activate “day passes” in order to use cell service. I power my phone off and back on when I land and I’m good to go. You may want to check with your provider before we travel!

WIFI is available in the dining room only. It will not reach the rooms.

ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE

ARRIVAL PICKUP TIME

Book your flight to arrive in Mexico City (MEX) by 4:00pm on November 5th to take advantage of the group transport that is included in your registration fee. Group bus will pick up all participants and bring everyone to The Dreaming House together.

MOVING THROUGH CUSTOMS

We no longer need to fill out custom forms for travel to Mexico. Simply chat with the agent as you move through customs.

MEETING THE GROUP TRANSIT

Meet the group near Starbucks by Puerta 8 for a 5:00pm pickup time. Do not leave the airport building unless you are with the group and driver.

The driver will meet you inside and will have a sign that says “Inner Healing Retreat, The Dreaming House”. This area is very crowded with lots of people awaiting others. Prepare accordingly.

(A tip that you're near Sala E-3 is that the door to the exterior of the building will be marked Puerta 8. Sala E-3 is on the interior of the building - it is the waiting area for Intl. arrivals.) FYI- Puerta means door and Sala means Hall!

There are two separate terminals at the airport.

If you arrive in Terminal 1 (Alaska, Southwest, American, United) proceed through customs and exit into Sala (Hall) E-3 right outside the main customs exit. You are basically in the right spot already. The group will meet at 5:00 pm in Terminal 1 International Arrivals Sala E-3 in front of the Starbucks near Puerta 8.

If you come into Terminal 2, on Delta or Aeromexico, you will need to transfer over to Terminal 1 on the Inter Terminal train. Hold onto your boarding pass so that you can board the train. Exit customs in T2 and go up a level to the upper level of the terminal and follow signs to the train. Take the train to Terminal 1 international arrivals, exit train and go down a level to lower level of terminal and find Sala E-3 in the alphabetically marked concourse that runs the length of the terminal. You should meet the group by 5:00 pm at the International Arrivals customs exit in Sala E-3 in front of the Starbucks near Puerta 8.

EXCHANGING MONEY

Money can be exchanged at the Mexico City Airport after you pass through customs near the group pickup spot. You can often get slightly better rates if you head down the hall a bit further away from where you exit customs. The bankers do not usually speak English, but they know why you are there and conversation is not required. They will give you a receipt for your transaction. You may need to show them your passport.

EMERGENCY CONTACTS AND WHAT TO DO IF THE SH*T HITS THE FAN

If something happens and you are not able to connect with the group transport. First text or call Jeffrey or call the Dreaming House.

Text or Call Jeffrey Warren at 603-667-7169
Call the Dreaming House 011 52 594 956 3969 (from the US)

If you can not contact Jeffrey or the Dreaming House we recommend taking the “pink taxis”. You can purchase a ride from the taxi booth and you will be assigned a taxi. The extra cost may be around $80 USD and it will take about 1 hour to the Dreaming House.

DEPARTURE

Group transport back to Mexico City Airport (MEX) is included in your retreat fee. Please make sure to book your flight to leave on Saturday, November 11th after 3pm to take advantage of that.

IF YOU NEED TRANSIT OUTSIDE STANDARD TIMES

We can coordinate this for you with one of the Dreaming House’s trusted drivers. The fee is between $60-$80 USD. If others need a ride around the same time as you, we can connect you to share the ride and split the cost. Please specify on your registration forms.

EXTRA NIGHTS

Extra nights are available at the Dreaming House before and after our planned trip if needed or desired. Nightly rate is $100 USD per night and need to be booked with us directly. We can also coordinate a car for you if you are arriving early or staying late. Please notify us on your registration forms.

MEALS

Meals at the Dreaming House are served family style in the dining room. Meals are included in your registration. Rice, beans, fresh salad, salsas and soup are served at most meals along with tortillas, veggies and some type of entree, often chicken as a protein. The Dreaming House is able to make special food arrangements for most special diets, but this must be done in advanced. Please fill out the registration form to complete your requests!

Breakfast is usually served around 8 or 9am. Cómeda (lunch) in the late afternoon (usually around 3 or 4pm) and our late meal, Cena (heavy snack / evening meal) is around 9pm.

You are encouraged to bring extra snacks, bars, protein powders, tea bags or anything else for times in between our scheduled meals.

Clean triple filtered water is always available. Coffee and teas are available on tap as well.

TRAVEL TO MEXICO

WEATHER & ALTITUDE

At the end of November daytime weather is usually sunny around 70 degrees F and night around 50 degrees F. Nights and mornings can feel cool. We are not there during the rainy season, but a raincoat is still recommended.

The altitude is about 7,000 feet above sea level and the sun can feel more intense. Hats and sunblock are recommended. Some people notice their breath feels a little more shallow, though most adjust quite quickly. There are many different supplements that can help support this. I personally have used spirulina and chlorella tablets with good results.

BATHROOMS

The sewer system in Mexico is not as capable of handling paper as in the US and many other parts of the world. Our venue, The Dreaming House is located in a small village just outside the pyramid complex with simple plumbing. All toilet paper and feminine hygiene products need to be disposed in the trash cans within the bathrooms. These are emptied at least once every day.

Some public restrooms require modest fees of a few pesos for entry or for purchase of toilet paper. Often something like 10 pesos which is about 50 US cents. We encourage everyone to keep tissues or sanitary wipes in their day packs just in case toilet paper is not available while out in public. It is also common to tip the rest room attendants in public, though not required.

WATER & ICE

Unlimited clean drinking water is available for you at the Dreaming House. It is located in the dining room. It is triple filtered and perfectly safe to drink. Please only brush your teeth with bottled water and avoid getting water in your mouth while showering. All of the produce at the Dreaming House is washed in triple filtered water so it’s safe for us to eat.

If out in public we recommend packaged snacks and cooked foods instead of things that may contain water which could be unfiltered.

Only purchase sealed bottles of water from reputable stores.

Ice is not as as typical in Mexico as other countries. It may be available at our venue at an extra charge, but you will need to ask for it. If ordering ice in public- always ask if it’s from bottled water. If in doubt don’t use ice!

CULTURE

Mexico has a diverse, vibrant and varying culture depending on the specific location. Many people find it to be louder and more active than their usual homes. Eye masks and earplugs can help you sleep if you are sensitive.

COMMUNITY HEALTH

We ask people with communicable illnesses or cold / flu /covid like symptoms to please refrain from joining us. If you are unwell and can’t make it we will happily offer a credit for future retreats, events, trainings and workshops from jeffreycharleswarren.com with absolutely no expiration minus the non-refundable deposit and any additional fees we may be required to pay the venue.

At the moment we are not required by the Mexican or American governments to provide negative covid tests for travel but this can change quickly. We ask for everyone’s flexibility around this in case we do need to ask for testing. For now it does not seem to be necessary unless you are displaying covid like symptoms prior to the trip in which case we kindly ask that you please self test before traveling.
